Changes continue at a rapid pace, and the Securities and Futures Commission’s (SFC) May 2023 Circular on implementation of a new licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms is the latest in a series of intentional, calculated steps toward a progressive regime that allows for broad consumer protection while fostering the technology that will carry the industry forward.
